Director of Industrial Sales Description

Our client manufactures a well-known product for both consumer and industrial channels, and they are looking for a Director of Industrial Sales to add to their team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a remote role where you will work from your home office and travel as business requires. In this position, you will manage and expand the distribution of their products within industrial channels in the southeastern United States. You will have no direct reports within the company and will instead oversee and motivate the activities of a 3rd party agency (~8 people) contracted to help achieve sales and profit goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of successful business development and sales growth by nurturing existing customer needs and identifying new sales opportunities. Director of Industrial Sales Responsibilities

•    Manage and expand distribution within industrial and DIY channels in the southeastern US
•    Oversee, motivate, & train 3rd party Distributor/Retailer/Manufacturer Sales Representatives
•    Provide insights on potential new markets and product development opportunities
•    Hunt for new business leads and schedule sales meetings
•    Give client presentations that showcase the efficacy of the product
•    Build and implement customer strategies to attain growth targets
•    Expand distribution and achieve category objectives
•    Develop an annual sales plan including forecasted profit by customer
•    Take risks as a part of a comprehensive long-range growth plan
•    Possess the ability to make tough calls when necessary to build results
•    React to ever-changing market dynamics
•    Identify potential roadblocks and develop proactive solutions 

Director of Industrial Sales Qualifications

•    5+ years of sales & business development experience required
•    B2B sales experience in the industrial channel is required
•    Strong financial acumen and understanding of key business drivers is required
•    Ability to hunt for new business leads (70%) required
•    Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook is required
•    Ability to travel 40% of the time is required (50%-60% for the first six months)
