Business Development Manager (Contract Design/Manufacture Sales exp. req.) Description

Our client in the medical and drug device manufacturing industry is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to add to their team in Carlsbad, CA. As the first person in their new west coast territory, your primary responsibility will be to grow revenue by locating, developing, negotiating and closing business for both the contract manufacturing and design/development areas of the company. Our client is looking for someone with a technical degree and at least five years of experience in selling contract design/development and manufacturing as a service for medical and/or drug delivery device components, pieces or parts. Ideal candidates will have a technical aptitude and problem-solving mindset, strong negotiating and relationship building skills and possess a relevant network or contact base. Business Development Manager (Contract Design/Manufacture Sales exp. req.) Responsibilities

• Develop and organize new sales strategies and initiatives
• Grow revenue by developing key customers, expanding new customer base and exploring opportunities
• Qualify potential business and close new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations, examining risks and potentials, while estimating key stakeholder needs and goals
• Support short-term and long-term strategic planning by developing and reporting on quarterly & annual territory sales revenue growth goals
• Enhance organization reputation and portfolio by accomplishing new and different requests
• Establish regular, in-person customer visits and communications
• Build and maintain internal and external relationships
• Ensure quality control of all company outputs and delivery of services

Business Development Manager (Contract Design/Manufacture Sales exp. req.) Qualifications

• Bachelor’s required, in engineering or sciences preferred
• 5+ years of contract design and development sales experience required
• 5+ years of contract manufacturing sales experience required
• 4+ years of medical device components, pieces or parts sales experience required
• Experience in drug delivery device design, development and/or manufacturing sales preferred
• Relevant network/contact base in Southern California required
• Proficient computer skills, MS Office and CRM system required
• Local travel in Southern California, up to 20% in West Coast Territory
