Accounting Assistant Description

Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for an Accounting Assistance to join their team in Hennepin County, MN. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of accounts receivable and payable tasks such as: posting client payments, reconciling accounts, organizing vendor payables, and filing invoices and statements. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years of accounting experience, familiarity with cash receipts with customers, and exceptional 10-key skills. Accounting Assistant Responsibilities

• Post customer payments to the appropriate accounts
• Reconcile accounts
• Prepare vender payables
• Confirm vendor/factory invoices and statements against actuals recorded
• Data entry
• Contact clients on past due invoices
• Process direct ship confirmations and ACH notifications
• Handle inquiries from clients, team members, and vendors
• Invoice clients
• File invoices and statements
• Maintain discrepancy report with daily updates as needed
• Assist with reporting through Excel and other platforms

Accounting Assistant Qualifications

• Two-year accounting degree required
• 5+ years of accounting experience required
• Understanding of GAAP and posting entries to GL required
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with exceptional typing and 10-key skills required
• Superior multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills required
• Experience with processing purchasing orders against vendor invoices strongly preferred
