Junior Software Developer Description

Our client in the insurance industry is looking for a Junior Software Developer to add to their growing Development and Application Support Team. This position is 80% development and 20% production support, working in an environment where all in-house technology is designed and built from scratch. The ideal candidate will apply their past coding experience to learn our client’s custom software and help develop new tools to increase business performance. You will never be short of projects to work on and will need to be comfortable wearing multiple hats. To be successful in this role, you must be a creative problem solver that enjoys teamwork and is eager to adapt to evolving changes in technology. This is a fully remote role where you can work anywhere in the US while meeting their 10am – 4pm eastern time core hours and having the freedom to choose when you start and finish your workday. Junior Software Developer Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate web-based software within an Agile development process
• Support complete software lifecycle including design, development, and testing
• Participate in the code review process with senior developers
• Develop component-based data access solution via SQL that are well structured and designed
• Test, debug and submit pull requests for complete and functional work products
• Create and provide technical documentation (UML diagrams, ERD diagrams, use cases, etc.)
• Support production issues by troubleshooting, debugging, and completing a root cause analysis
• Learn new software applications and/or coding languages as needed

Junior Software Developer Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (software/computer engineering, computer science or related)
• 2+ years of professional experience as a software developer required
• 1+ years of professional experience with C# and .NET software development required
• Experience with T-SQL, JavaScript/jQuery, CSS/SCSS, HTML5, Microsoft visual studio required
• Experience with Web API and REST development required
• Basic understanding of application security required
• Experience with cloud-based resource development required, Microsoft Azure preferred
