Accounting and Inventory Specialist (CPA req.) Description

Our client is looking for an Accounting and Inventory Specialist to add to their team in Birmingham, AL. You will oversee daily financial entries, verify the data accuracy of inventory, and monitor reporting requirements for any patents and trademarks held by the client. Our client is looking for someone with experience managing financial records and tax returns, as well as reconciling cash accounts, audits, and financial review. To be successful in this role, you must be capable of interacting with both the operations and finance teams, taking initiative, and asking questions. Accounting and Inventory Specialist (CPA req.) Responsibilities

● Prepare journal entries for cash disbursements and post cash receipts
● Review and reconcile cash accounts and accrued expenses
● Reconcile inventory activity in system against physical stock in warehouse
● Call for collection of overdue accounts receivable
● Update inventory ordering worksheet and manage demand planning proactively
● Monitor and correct invoicing and inventory issues in company CRM
● Validate that employee expense reports are received with proper support
● Manage tracking system for patents, trademarks, business licenses, and sales tax permits
● Generate sales tax returns
● Organize monthly financial records
● Maintain fixed asset schedule

Accounting and Inventory Specialist (CPA req.) Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree required (accounting or finance preferred)
● CPA certification required
● Experience with company financial records and tax returns required
● Experience with reconciling cash accounts, audits, and financial review required
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Quickbooks required
● Accounting firm experience preferred
