Salary: $65,000 to $72,000

Hours: Monday – Friday, Monthly Rotating Shift
• 1st Shift: 5:00am to 4:00pm
• 2nd Shift: 5:00pm to 4:30am

Certified Welding Inspector Description

Our client in the metal manufacturing industry is looking for a Certified Welding Inspector to add to their team in Palatka, FL. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe, accurate and efficient production of their products. Our client is looking for someone with their CWI certification and experience with shop drawings/blueprints. To be successful in this role, you must have solid communication skills and eager to continue to learn more. Certified Welding Inspector Responsibilities

• Perform visual material inspection
• Perform layout checks
• Perform rotational capacity tests
• Resolve quality issues on the floor
• Monitor welder qualification tests
• Monitor and record welding parameters to ensure compliance
• Perform dimensional checks on lay downs and shop assemblies
• Develop improvements in the quality control process
• Work with welders and lead men to maintain quality
• Maintain a work log and reports
• Interpret the specifications and applicable Codes
• Coordinate inspection of QC hold points

Certified Welding Inspector Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector required
• Shop drawing/blueprint experience required
• Ability to work 2nd shift every other month required
• NACE Certifications (at any level) or the ability to get certified strongly preferred
• D1.5, ASNT, SSPC or ICC Welding Certifications a plus
• Experience in any of the following is a plus:
     o Bridge or Heavy Fabrication
     o Visual Weld or Bolting Inspection
     o Dimensional verification
     o Coating Inspections
     o Non-Destructive Testing
